Professor Layton Voice Actor Hints at Layton Coming to Smash Bros. - News

Professor Layton's voice actor, Christopher Miller, seems to have let slip that the character will appear - in some form at least - in Super Smash Bros. for 3DS & Wii U.
Miller revealed the news by replying to a Tweet on Twitter that queried his involvement in the game following its appearance on his IMDb page:
He subsequently protected his account so that it can only be access by verified followers, which if anything adds further credence to the idea that Miller has leaked the appearance of the character in the game.

Meh. Not one of my top choices. But more power to those who wanted him.
Considering how often I play as Layton the Mii Fighter, I would throw money my Wii U until I remembered how the eShop worked.
I am puzzled.
Now there are too many third party characters in Smash.
Why is that a bad thing?
Because 4 out of 51 characters in Smash is faaar too much if we include Layton and Ryu. Sure.
Isn't Layton a first party character?
