Fake Amiibo Figures Surface - News

by William D'Angelo , posted on 03 June 2015 / 5,800 Views

It was only a matter of time before people started selling counterfeit Amiibo figures and it appears the first of them have now hit store shelves.

The counterfeit Mario Amiibo's color is a little bit off from the real one, the face on the Link Amiibo appears deformed, the Pikachu Amiibo's arms are less pronounced, and the head on the counterfeit Samus Amiibo is smaller than that of the real Amiibo.

It is not known if these counterfeit Amiibo figures have the NFC chip inside.

Thanks Info Amiibo.

Why would you forge the common ones? Make some fake Villagers and Jigglypuffs, you'd be rich.

More common ones = less likely to get caught.

They funny thing is that they're actually better looking than the real ones.

Maybe these guys can actually keep up the supply normally like every other figurine producing company in the history of the world instead of sending out "waves" that sell out in 20 mins.
I've accepted alreayd I'll never have a Rosalina Amiibo. I don't even wanna play with it, I just want a pretty figurine.

Besides the fact that they lack the NFC chip, making them completely worthless, outside of just staring at them. Although, I can't lie... That's all I've done with my Amiibo. I haven't even opened it yet lol

Lol. That's funny. I was just starting to 3D print my own Amiibo figures, just for some practice.

Makerbot Replicator 2x! It gets the job done, but can be a fiesty little bitch at times.

These actually look pretty good for presumably cheap knock offs. unfortunately I’ve read they lack the NFC chip essentially making them Nintendo toys rather than Amiibo.

These are some good fakes, I'm no interested in Amiibo at all but I would buy one of these just for shits n' giggles.

I live in São Paulo, Brazil, where supposedly those amiibos were found. I couldn´t find any in my city, though. I supposed these were found in cities near the Paraguayan border, where most of the imported products come to my country. Probably these fake amiibos were manufactured in Asia (China, Taiwan who knows?) and brought to be sold in Brazil, where there´s a high demand for Nintendo products

You may laugh, but the Pikachu fakemiibo nails it, and Mario is really good too. I would buy them.
