Blizzard Still Making "Significant Changes" to Starcraft II Story
by Nicholas Taylor, posted on 25 October 2010 / 1,626 ViewsAt Blizzcon during the weekend, Chris Sigaty, producer of Starcraft II, said that the company is still sorting out the story for the two upcoming editions, Starcraft II: Heart of the Swarm and Starcraft II: Legacy of the Void, which will be focusing on the Zerg and the Protoss respectively, in contrast to the already released Starcraft II: Wings of Liberty which held its focus on the Terran.
This could be the reason that Starcraft II: Heart of the Swarm isn't set for a release any time soon.
When asked if the story for Starcraft II was fully written, Sigaty replied “Not really, no. We’re making pretty significant changes and still figuring things out.”
He also added that a lot of the next iteration's content and mechanics are still being worked on.
“We will be very hard pressed to bring it out next year,” he said.
“I don’t have a date, but it’s more ambitious, it’s bigger than what Warcraft: The Frozen Throne was to Reign of Chaos; I don’t anticipate it being done in that one-year time-frame.”
It was also officially said, as if it wasn't already made clear, that Starcraft II: Heart of the Swarm will definitely not see a release during 2011.
