Level-5 has announced Professor Layton and the Curious Village Remake for the Nintendo Switch 2, PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch, and PC. It will launch in 2027.

Professor Layton and the Curious Village originally released for the Nintendo DS in February 2007.

The tale begins as Professor Layton, a true English gentleman and famous archeologist, drives to the remote settlement of St. Mystere with his apprentice, Luke, in response to a request from the widow of a wealthy baron.

The baron’s will indicates that the family treasure, the Golden Apple, is hidden somewhere within the village, and whoever finds it will inherit the whole of the Reinhold Estate.

The Professor and Luke must search the town for clues leading to the precious heirloom.

I played all the DS games via emulator. Will get this remake, for sure.

Out of curiosity: When I discovered VG Chartz, one of the articles on the front page was a review of Professor Layton and the Diabolical Box.

Uhhh this one is a serious classic. Though honestly a remaster of the original trilogy might have been just as good and probably easier.

Yeah... They already did HD versions of the original trilogy but they were only released on mobile...

The Phoenix Wright HD mobile ports came to consoles/pc as well but for some reason they never put HD Layton on anything else.

This remake seems a bit unnecessary and them just releasing a Layton HD Collection would have been better.
