Nintendo has officially announced side-scrolling Metroidvania game, Metroid Ravenous, for the Nintendo Switch 2. It will launch on January 28, 2027.

It’s eat or be eaten for Samus Aran in an all-new 2D adventure, coming to Nintendo Switch 2!
Plus, the Metroid Ravenous amiibo collection will release with individual Samus and Chozo Statue figures at launch. A third amiibo in the lineup, Samus (Metroid Suit), will be bundled with a Special Edition that includes the game and a steel game case.

Recently finished my first Metroid game. Played Zero Mission. I have dipped my toes in Super Metroid, Prime and Prime Hunters before without being hooked. So I would not call myself a Metroid fan.
Metriod Ravenous is the first game releasing on Switch 2 that I'm interested in. Looks dope.

At first i thought it was a NS2 edition of Dread... now i see its a followup to Dread (so to speak)
