Nintendo is developing a remake of the Nintendo 64 classic, The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time, for the Nintendo Switch 2, which is set to launch later this year. A new look at the game is likely at The Legend of Zelda 40th anniversary Direct.

Looks like the original Ocarina release date of '98 corresponding with the Direct date being 9/8 was true (by the U.S. date format, that is).
Very excited, but I still want Nintendo to announce WWHD and TPHD for Switch 1 as well. That would be a great way for current Switch owners who aren't upgrading to Switch 2 just yet to enjoy Zelda's 40th anniversary too.
yeah WW on Switch would be an immediate buy for me
30 minute Zelda Direct followed by a 45 minute General Direct?! Oh this is gonna be a big one!
Getting hopes up for a Nintendo Direct? Inevitable disappointment? You bet! ;) Being serious for a moment though, they have specified only games releasing for Winter 2026. I’m expecting a ton of third-party and indie announcements unless they’ve got plans to overload their October through March output.
That said… where’s my Clair Obscur NS2 port?
If GTA6 is announced for NS2, everyone is gonna blame Nintendo for the 30fps
At last!!! Can't wait.
We will finally know whether the OoT remake will be a 1:1 recreation or a "reimagining" that updates the game.
i expect a combination of the 2
I hope it's more than "we fixed the camera and smooth the controls". Imho, game realy needs a update.
i agree
TWO Directs?!
Back-to-Back?!
IF they're doing Zelda first, it's for one of two reasons, or both:
1) They just want to get it out of the way so they can focus on everything else they have planned for the rest of the year and 2027.
2) They have something HUGE planned at the end of the General Direct that warrants its own spotlight. It's been a real long time since we've had a new, proper 3D Mario or Smash Bros. We're due.
Cool. I'll be catching the Zelda Direct and the Treehouse, and watching any interesting clips out of the General.
