The VGChartz Gap charts are updated monthly and each article focuses on a different gap chart. The charts include comparisons between the 7th generation and 8th generation platforms, as well as comparisons within the 8th generation. All sales are worldwide, unless otherwise stated.

Xbox One Vs. Xbox 360 Global:

Gap change in latest month: 284,458 – X360

Gap change over last 12 months: 3,078,419 – X360

Total Lead: 178,530 - XOne

Xbox One Total Sales: 28,717,251

Xbox 360 Total Sales: 28,538,721

February 2017 is the 40th month of the Xbox One being on sale. The gap decreased during the month when compared to the Xbox 360’s 40th month on sale by 284,458 units in favor of the Xbox 360 and 3.08 million units in the last 12 months. The Xbox One currently leads by 178,530 units.

The Xbox One could fall behind the Xbox 360 in March.

Both consoles launched in November. The Xbox 360 launched in November 2005, while the Xbox One launched in November 2013. The Xbox One has sold 28.72 million units, while its predecessor the Xbox 360 sold 28.54 million units.

So the X1 sold better than the 360 which was considered a major success. I wonder why gamers still consider it a disaster.. seems to be doing well and MS were right. Its the most successful Xbox in history, i mean the facts are right above..
Kinect will boost 360 sales through the roof however i thought everyone hated Kinect.. the contradictory is strong in the gaming community. Haha
I wonder what X1 has to match 360s Kinect era.
