Emo, black-haired Dante getting you down? Never fear! Capcom is offering his white-haired brother Vergil, with his own playable story, as a pre-order bonus for DmC: Devil May Cry through GameStop and EB Games. If you don't pre-order the game, it will be available as DLC sometime after launch for $8.99

Of course, this will do little to please fans who have already written off the game, and have become jaded by Capcom's on-disc DLC policies in the past. To combat this, Capcom has stressed that the Vergil gameplay is not included on the disc. 

I'm excited for Ninja Theory's reboot of the classic franchise, but it's a little disheartening to see the trend for day-one story-driven DLC continue. I wrote on the dangers of this when a similar strategy was employed with Catwoman in last year's Batman: Arkham City, and I'm disappointed to see it coming up again (though it's certainly not become as pertinent as I suspected it would be). 

Still, Vergil certainly looks cool to play as. Check out his gameplay trailer below:
