GameStop Worried About Drop in Digital Game Prices - News

GameStop president Tony Bartel is worried about the falling prices in digital games. While he is worried about GameStop, he is also concerned with the entire industry. Gamers who buy games digitally expects to buy a new game for around $35. He also estimates that new console owners have received $100 million in free downloadable games in hardware bundles this year alone.

"We want to help ensure that our industry does not make the same mistake as other entertainment categories by driving the perceived value of digital goods significantly below that of a physical game," said Bartel and reported by GamesIndustry. "When the free digital token programs end, we believe that the industry will need to work together to continue to price goods in a way that sustains profitability and encourages a great innovation that this category needs."

This is from gamestop who charge me €60 for a regular controller. That's the price of a fucking game and can be bought for almost half the price on amazon. The more competition the better.
