Wow, so many records broken: Best selling game (wii sports), best selling racing game (Mario kart wii), best selling fighting game (SSBB), best selling sports game (wii sports)...

Makes sense to abandon a model like the Wii and go for something more like the GameCube, right Nintendo?

Nintendo aren't kidding when they said their software drives their hardware XD. They had loads of 3rd-party support then too, but yet again their own 1st-party games seem to make the biggest impact. No game has ever sold over 80 million copies before, even bundled except for Tetris. That's already a big achievement.

I've always thought Wii Sports shouldn't be counted here. I mean, the game came with EVERY Wii system ever sold.

Devil_Survivor (on 17 June 2014)

Ummm no Wii Sports didn't not come with every system since there was different bundles for the system. Also in Japan and South Korea it wasn't bundled at all at any point.

Wii Sports stopped being the standard pack in game around 2011 with the Mario Kart Wii bundle, and they started selling Wii Sports by itself for $19.99. The currently available Wii Mini also does not come with Wii Sports.
