Congrats to Call of Duty and Activision, Infinity Ward, and Treyarch.

Seems it is hard for people to congratulate these companies on all the hard work and hours they have put in the industry to make the gamers happy. Even if it isn't your favorite game this is hell of an accomplishment.

Uhm, Activision, 90% of the players have probably bought every Call of Duty entry since MW. You don't have 100m unique players.

But you also gotta think that they're not saying just owned, they're saying simply having played a CoD game. Whether that's a family member or spouse or whatever who played it for a bit. So I think it's safe to say at least 100 million different people have played a CoD game at one point or another.

Over 138 million retail copies of CoDs 4-9 have been sold and that doesn't count digital copies. MW3 had the most sales, over 30 million if you include sales on the Nintendo DS. But a lot of people have purchased every iteration of the game and others have only purchased one.

I'd estimate there's a minimum of 35 million people who have purchased at least one copy of the game and at most 75 million (and that's stretching it). Probably 40-50 million is a reasonable range.
