Microsoft: Xbox One to Launch in Japan in 2014 - News

by William D'Angelo , posted on 03 July 2013 / 5,194 Views

Microsoft Japan President Yasuyuki Higuchi, spoke in an interview with 4 Gamer (and translated by DualShockers), that the Xbox One won't launch in Japan until early 2014. He described Japan as a second tier country.

"For the launch of Xbox One Japan is a Tier 2 country and not a Tier 1 country, so it’ll come with the second wave, that will be delayed a little bit [compared to North America]," said Higuchi. "It won’t be delayed too much from the North American release," he later added.

Early 2014 could mean a launch in March or April. The Xbox One is not expected to launch in the rest of Asia until the same time or even later in 2014.
