Gameforge Berlin to Close - News
by William D'Angelo , posted on 22 April 2013 / 5,016 ViewsGameforge, the online game company, has announced they will be shutting down its Berlin studio by the of September. The company is currently in a transition period as it moves toward free-to-play and mobile games.
The Berlin studio currently has around 100 employees and Gameforge is offering positions to people who are being laid off at its Karlsruhe studio. This studio manages the majority of their games.
"We have to organise our company in a way that keeps it flexible and efficient and to focus expertise and resources in one location," said CEO Alexander Rosner. "Of course we have offered all Berlin employees a position in Karlsruhe and are hoping that many of them will accept the offer."
In November 2012 Gameforge had laid off 20 employees at its Berlin studio. The company at the time was already asking employees to move to its Karlsruhe studio.
