Former Wayforward Developers Form New Studio - News

by William D'Angelo , posted on 07 March 2013 / 2,904 Views

Former developers at Wayforward have opened up a new studio called Yacht Club Games. Sean Velasco is running the new studio, along with five other developers. They have worked on titles such as Double Dragon Neon, Contra 4 and A Boy and His Blob.

"Yacht Club Games is an independent game developer started in 2011 by Sean Velasco and a crew from WayForward," reads the studios website. "We are a fun-loving bunch of gaming geniuses who have dedicated our lives to video games ever since we saw our first pixels. However, our serious and solemn goal is to make really awesome original games that fuse modern and retro sensibilities, and we have the pedigree to prove it."

The studio did clarify on it's Twitter that they are not developing free-to-play and social games. They will be at PAX East which takes place later this month, according to their official Facebook page.
