Toylogic has announced that its Xbox Live Arcade game Happy Wars has passed 1.2 million players worldwide. The game has reached this milestone in two months and is the first free-to-play Xbox Live Arcade game. The game however does have a micro-transaction system. The game is also only available to Xbox Live Gold members.

"We put a lot of effort into making a game that would appeal to every type of player, but it is still incredible to see so many join the battle so quickly," game director Yoichi Take said in a press release. "I hope all of our players enjoy today’s holiday-themed update, and I look forward to welcoming even more warriors, mages, and clerics to Happy Wars over the holidays."

There is also a new update which arrived today for the game. It is a holiday bundle which features seasonal decorations for the game. It also adds a "special challenge" co-op boss battle mode. This update will only be available for a limited time.
