Wii U Sells 40,000 Units Opening Weekend in the UK - News
by William D'Angelo , posted on 03 December 2012 / 8,495 ViewsNintendo launched its Wii U console over the weekend and it sold about 40,000 units in its first two days, according to MCV. Retail sources suggest that the console is nearly sold out at most retailers, so if Nintendo had been able to ship more consoles the figure it could have been higher.
The software attach rate is in excess of 2 to 1. For every console that was sold on average just over two games were sold. Also this figure does not include digital software sales from Nintendo's eShop.
Other sales figures include the premium bundle selling the majority of the units, 24,000, while the basic bundle sold just 10 percent or 4,000 units. The ZombiU bundle sold 12,000 units or 30 percent of the total consoles sold.

sold out? bollocks. I work in GAME, there's tons of stock everywhere. The black ZombiU is sold out in a lot of places but standard editions are in stock everywhere.
We need to talk about this...
I was one of the 40,000!
too early to comment.... lets see how many worldwide by xmas and go from there
To put this in perspective last week sales:
360 - 43k
3DS - 40k
PS3 - 34k
Wii - 11k
Granted those are a week Vs 2 days but it's safe to say WiiU sales were unremarkable but possibly limited by supply in some areas.
Those are terrible figures in case WiiU is not sold out : 360 sold 40k last week and it's a 7-year old system.
40k? or 400k? Confused.
40K in UK (that''s what this article is about). 400K was first week in the USA.
24k + 4k =/= 40k. Do you mean 16k basic units were sold? Compare this to Wii, is 40k good? Poorly written article, :P
