Not a single exclusive made the Top 10. Xbox exclusives are definitely not selling as well as in the past.
Pretty bad isn't it? And Xbox fanboys always mock us "only 10% of ps4 owners bought that game so it's a flop!"
That's legitimately surprising.
Has Playstation ever released a similar list? Genuinely curious if any PS4 exclusives sold better than Destiny 2, Star Wars Battlefront, Battlefield 1? EA, Take Two, and especially Activision dominated the chart, and honestly, I could see that being the case with the PS4's.
The same lists were released for PS4 today. Spider-Man and God of War sold better than all 3 of those games. Not sure if any other exclusives did because only the top 10 games were listed but I wouldn't be surprised.
And PS4 just managed to get two games in the list with releases from last year. I wonder if you would have laughed so much about PS4 as well without that single year
Destiny 2 on Xbox One did better in the USA than Halo 5 did. Wow. That's really a fall from grace.
Wow I didn't even notice that! And Halo 5 was released well before GamePass launched. Ouch that hurts...
@Barkley just wanted to comment on a below post about how you said PS4 has 8 different IPs compared to X1. Have to take into account that 4 of those IPs are old franchises just like the X1 and 1 wasnt even made by Sony where as Xbox has released multiple titles of the same franchise like Gears and Forza compared to GT and GoW. Its why they are up there. Also keep inmind X1s PC partnership and online services do play a heavy roll in this, lets not forget that.
Destiny 2 is actually a very popular game. It has remained one of the most active games on Xbox for a while now.
Halo 5 apparently sold 5 million units in 3 months.
Generally speaking, people dont buy Playstation or Xbox for exclusives. Nintendo dominates when it comes to that.
Exactly and if you look at the top ten best selling games on both consoles in North America the list is almost identical especially the top five.
Is it true, though? I can think of at least 4 PS4 exclusives which sold twice as much as the best-selling XB1 exclusive...
I buy Playstation for their exclusives.
I imagine a few Playstation exclusives are among the best selling list. But its also gonna be much the same like CoD, BF, Rockstar games, etc.
Unless Sony releases a similar list we wont really know.
@think-man - Good for you. But its a safe bet multiple 3rd party games sold better than PS4 exclusives.
I also have a PS4 for exclusives because I only use it for that.
Those top 10 lists looks so.... mainstream.
Sea of Theives probably sold between 3 and 4 million. Not bad, Rare needed a hit.
After all these years here, it’s still the same ones getting into the bickering inherent to this childish console war.
That's because they are great franchises.
Damn, Chris you really are salty god damn it, you know Xbox has been very bad this gen, Xbox 360 was awesome and somehow they menaged to ruin almost everything good about the brand this gen.
