Excuse Me, You've Got Mad Men in My Need for Speed
by Stefanie Fogel, posted on 18 October 2011 / 1,254 ViewsElectronic Arts today announced that Mad Men's Christina Hendricks will star along with Sean Faris (Vampire Diaries) in Need for Speed The Run.
Hendricks, the Emmy and Golden Globe nominated actress who plays office manager Joan Harris on the hit AMC series, will make her video game debut as Sam Harper, a racing manager who funds the protagonist's entry into an illicit street race.
"It’s very exciting to be part of Need for Speed The Run. I’ve never been a video game character before so this is definitely a first for me. It’s been fantastic fun to do something so different and to show a different side of myself as well," said Hendricks.
Faris, meanwhile, will voice Jack Rourke, an arrogant driver in trouble with the mob whose only chance of survival is winning the race to New York. “I got a kick out of seeing myself in the game, it’s totally me!" he says. "I’m a huge fan of the Need for Speed series, so I jumped at the opportunity to be a part of the game."
Developed by Black Box, Need for Speed The Run will be available November 15 in North America and November 17 in Europe on the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, PC, Wii and Nintendo 3DS.
