Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare: Reflex Online Gameplay Video Demo

Original post at Popzara Blogs:

If you've already seen previous posts regarding the first-ever video footage from Activision's upcoming Wii-remake of Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare (i.e. Call of Duty: Modern Warfare: Reflex), then you might be wondering why there's an entirely new post dedicated to showcasing its online multiplayer mode.  While many will come for the single-player, they'll stay for the online firefights, a crucial element that has kept the original Xbox 360/PS3/PC versions popular ever since release.

Much like its single-player videos, the online demonstrated in Modern Warfare: Reflex looks very, very good.  Detailed graphics, smooth gameplay, and an intuitive interface should help make Wii owners very happy when the game finally drops alongside its HD-powered sequel on November 10th.  Why Activision waited so long to release (or have 'leaked') this footage is beyond curious, as developer Treyarch has clearly approximated just about everything from the orginal release onto Nintendo's hardware admirably.  Its almost as if all attention is being manually driven elsewhere, leaving fans to discover this one on their own...but Activision wouldn't intentionally undersell one game to help promote another, would they?

This should sell well and anyone who doesn't have it for another console should definitely get it. I'm not even interested in MW2 (too many reasons to list) but I'll be grabbing this for the sweet controls :)

Looks great. Too bad I dislike WW shooters.

jbee02 (on 09 November 2009)

I own this game for the PC and i own a wii and 360, so i originally was just going to get MW2 but considering Gold Membership expired and when i tried to play the PC version it blue screened on me i decided to get both this game and Modern Warfare 2

jbee02 (on 09 November 2009)

Considering the massive sales of New Super Mario Bros. for the DS and Mario Kart Wii and every title with the name Mario in it, I'd be surprised if this game didn't outsell CoD and Halo

oni-link (on 08 November 2009)

Hey guys I ain't hating on the Wii...look at my screen name and you could tell I favor the Wii a wee bit more than the other game consoles. It actually is my favorite console this generation as I feel that it is the only one that actually innovates and FEELS next gen. I just don't think "visually" it's up to par next gen wise as the other 2 HD consoles. Look at my Madword, The Conduit, Spyborgs, Muramasa, and Dead Space post and you'll see a little Nintendo fanboy in me. However, I call it like I see it and I've seen plenty of games that promise excellent value turn out unpolished and lacking production values. Case in point the Wii version of SW:TF unleashed; looked very lacking compared to it's HD counterparts and also had a shifty camera that almost made it unplayable IMHO. The only saving grace it had was it's control; which I wish was ported to another Starwars game exclusively made for the Wii hence builty ground up not ported. One of my favorite games for the Wii has environment textures that of Majora's Mask and character animation reminding me of dreamcast. But because of it's unique features like compelling storyline, innovative controls, and unobstructive camera Cursed Mountain is in my top 10 Wii games list of all time. It reminds me so much of ED and that's one hella of a complement!

I love how people can make a final judgement the quality of the graphics from a crappy, compressed Youtube video, you must have magic eyes. For the detractors, go check out some of the other videos, there are plenty of them now, some of significantly better quality showing graphics that are among the best for a FPS on the Wii.

NightDragon83 (on 08 November 2009)

Uno has a good point, and RE4: Wii Edition ended up selling better than the original GC version! I think MW: Reflex will sell very well through the holidays and into next year. It won't do huge 1st week numbers like NSMB Wii or MW2, but it'll definitely have legs, and it will top Mario Kart Wii as the definitive online multiplayer game for the Wii, so that will surely help its legs well into next year.

kunaixhaku (on 08 November 2009)

if they brought this out along with the other versions they wud've sold a couple more millions and had a larger mw2 launch with the sequel but then again they wanna beat grand theft auto 4 sales and that was only on ps3 and 360 too so i guess its fair

Hemuli (on 08 November 2009)

2 years too late ......................................................... I wouldn't say that. COD4 is still my favourite HD console game even 2 years after its release (well I guess that will change now with MW2). I would really like to buy this, if I only hadn't experienced the exact same maps and guns before.

uno (on 08 November 2009)

Much like RE4 was a 2 year old port when it came to the Wii so is this game. Both have something else in common, they are adding IR controls to these games. If people dont like it, dont buy it. I cant wait to play this game on my Wii.

chris_wing (on 08 November 2009)

@oni-link You can not tell any kind of visual polish level from this low quality youtube video. A mid era PS2 game, right, because the late era PS2 games look so much better then this? You make a lot of crazy comments on here oni-link. I think this type of visual is not the Wii's strong suit, but the COD Wii team did great work on w@w, and this looks just as good. F*** only care about grachics.

ph4nt (on 08 November 2009)

I think peoples memories are in need of refreshment. Counterstrike 1.6? PS2 game?. Counterstrike 1.6 is plagues with terrible character models and blurry textures, MWR looks miles better, it is closer to counterstrike source than it is to 1.6. There is not a single PS2 game that looks better than this game.

atma998 (on 08 November 2009)

@oni-link Worse than a mid-PS2 game? Wtf are you talking about? From what I have seen (so far), the game looks great and the gameplay looks fast and very fluid and with the Wiimote/Nunchuk control the game will surely be a great game.

MonstaMack (on 08 November 2009)

Will this include all the maps that cost something on the 360/PS3 for free? I'd hate to dish out another $10 for maps.

Pock3R (on 08 November 2009)

graphics look like counter-strike 1.6

Fededx (on 08 November 2009)

I hate piracy as much as I hate the digital format (downloadable games? I want a box and manuals!!!). Hope next gen all three companies go the same direction, blu ray disks seems to be a good option right now, but how long will it last? Anyway, as I said, I don't care about this game, but I gotta admit it looks pretty good! Hope it sells really well (sure it will)

Nyeguy81 (on 08 November 2009)

siko! how can you say the controls are way better than the conduit? they were fully customizable and you spelled hear wrong!

EntilZha (on 08 November 2009)

The video looks good for what it is. It is very hard to judge graphics on a blurry video. BUT, it does seem to be very fast and fluid, which is more important to the game play in my opinion. As for comments about it being too late, that only applies to people who have already played it on the other consoles. Since I only have a Wii (for now) it is right on time.

Siko1989 (on 08 November 2009)

Dv8thwonder i seriously hope nintendo does something about piracy next gen, because i hate it

Simulacrum (on 08 November 2009)

Looks terrible.

jedidrummer2 (on 08 November 2009)

Sweet! The video may be low quality but yo can see that the game looks and plays great! Can't wait. Getting it Mon at midnight.

Dv8thwonder (on 08 November 2009)

Leaked footage my ass! More like stolen copy from Bristol torrented ISO more like it. Iwata was right. Damn limey basterds are giving Nintendo more and more reasons to adopt DRM. Damn you all! /rant over Wii rampant piracy confirms Blu-Ray in 2011.

Siko1989 (on 08 November 2009)

wtf oni-link i seen more effort into this game then any other wii ports... plus star wars force unleash on wii was better because of great controls and that was the selling point of that game.

Siko1989 (on 08 November 2009)

this will get way better reviews then World at War, i here the controls are way better then the conduit

Falk Sturmfels (on 08 November 2009)

And for the game: good, we get another coregame - lets see what the reviews will tell us.

Falk Sturmfels (on 08 November 2009)

@oni-link: Great comment. Typical. I guess you don΄t own a wii.

NightDragon83 (on 08 November 2009)

I think I might give this one a rental just to see how it plays compared to its HD counterparts... I wonder how the Wiimote/Nunchuk combo stacks up against the standard dual analog sticks and mouse/keyboard combo.

oni-link (on 08 November 2009)

AMAZING...that it looks worse than a mid-PS2 game. C'mon I know Wii isn't the most powerful console this generation but this is like SW:force unleashed type of horrid graphics (on the Wii). It's like they're not even trying to polish the visuals in this game!

bazmeistergen (on 08 November 2009)

People keep saying this is too late. I've never played it so it's not too late for me. I think that's the same for a lot of others. If it is good then it cannot be too late. If it came out 2 years ago the people that are saying it is too late probably would have bought it for the HD macines still anyway. I see no real or significant difference. The same with the GTA Chinatown game. Saying it is too late is pretty meaningless without some kind of decent reasoning. It's just lazy mouthing off.

atma998 (on 08 November 2009)

This game should have been released two years ago with the PS360 version, but at least it have been released. The game looks good.

O-D-C (on 08 November 2009)

A-M-A-Z-I-N-G

zzyoshiman (on 08 November 2009)

well, i'm going to get both MW:R and MW2

Tayne (on 08 November 2009)
