Rockstar Games announced it will make an announcement for Red Dead Redemption 2 on September 28 at 8am PT / 11am ET.

Red Dead Redemption 2 will launch for the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One in spring 2018.

I could be wrong because my memory about this is really hazy, but I think I've read that the development of the first game was really troubled. That's probably why there's no PC version, and that's why there probably won't be a Switch version either.
