Destiny and Hearthstone Make $850M - News

Activision Blizzard has released its full year earnings for the 2014 fiscal year, which ended December 31, 2014. Non-GAAP revenue increased to $4.8 billion in 2014, from $4.3 billion in 2013. Profits increased to $1.42 billion, from $940 million.

"2014 was another successful year as we achieved record results and introduced new franchises with outstanding gameplay, expanded on exciting new business models and continued investing in some of the world's most important entertainment franchises," said Activision Blizzard CEO Bobby Kotick.

Kotick added that Destiny and Hearthstone: Hoers of Warcraft has more than 40 million registered players worldwide and generated more than $850 million in 2014. He also expects the publisher to expand its AAA titles to 10 in 2015, from from five at the beginning of 2014.

I wonder which game had the larger percent of that 850million, my bet goes to hearthstone just because of its FTP model and 2 "expansions".

Bundling games now? Destiny barely broke even, or made a tiny profit. Sad for such a hyped game!

Well figuring Destinys budget is 500 mil for 3 games and a time span of 10 years.... I think even half of 850 mil for Destiny seems great. The first game didnt cost 500 million to make and market.
