Wii U vs Wii – VGChartz Gap Charts – May 2014 Update

Wii U Vs. Wii Global:

Gap change in latest month: 1,535,503 - Wii

Gap change over last 12 months: 17,932,282 - Wii

Total Lead: 22,621,595 – Wii

Wii U Total Sales: 6,290,941

Wii Total Sales: 28,912,536

In the latest month of sales the Wii U has fallen another 1,535,503 units further behind its predecessor the Wii. The Wii currently leads by 22,621,595 when you compare the first 19 months. The gap is expected to continue to grow in the next month.

Both consoles launched in November, the Wii in November 2006 and the Wii U in November 2012. The Wii U has sold 6.29 million units in its first 18 months on sale, while the Wii sold 28.91 million units.

Very depressing. Only beat by 3ds vs PSV ones, but almost quite there

yeah it stinks but hey at least we get good games for the console like mario kart 8 bayonetta 2 and smash bros 4 :D

I wonder if....even for just 1 month, Mario Kart can budge this curve in WiiU's favor.....probably not

This is good to see the sale in a way because next month we can see how much of a change there is after how well Wii U has been going since Mario Kart 8 launch. On a plus note, 3DS and Vita gap are widening because 3DS are still selling around double the sales Sony's portable are making.
