Aliens: Colonial Marines Developer Hit with Layoffs - News

TimeGate president Adel Chaveleh confirmed the news with Polygon. Chaveleh did not disclose the number of employees laid off, but sources told Polygon that about 25 people have been let go.
"Today, we had to make the difficult decision to let go of some great game developers," said Chaveleh. "This is never easy, and we're doing all we can to assist those developers affected."
"TimeGate is preparing, as is the entire industry, for the transition to next-generation consoles and new business models," Chaveleh continued. "As part of this reinvention, all projects and strategic initiatives continue to move forward at the studio."
Aliens: Colonial Marines which was released on February 12 and has sold poorly. The game has sold 730,000 units at retail as of the week ending February 23 according to VGChartz. The Xbox 360 version has sold 410,000 units and the PlayStation 3 version 240,000 units. The game has also received mostly negative reviews.

The game is great, it's a an old style fps with major concentration on single player. What's the problem?
the lack of AI? the lack of proper shading and lighting on models during QTEs? the fact that the back of the box actually has screenshots which are not from the finished game but some press release from a year ago? The fact that this game was pretty much the last chance for the almost 30 year old aliens franchise to finally get a good game to re inject some interest in the series? Do you need more?
