Capcom Lowers Forecast Due to Lower Resident Evil 6 Sales
by William D'Angelo, posted on 19 December 2012 / 7,142 ViewsCapcom has lowered its financial forecast for its full fiscal year. Capcom originally estimated revenue of 105 billion yen ($1.2 billion) and now expects revenue of 93.5 billion yen ($1.1 billion). Capcom has also lowered its estimated profits. It now expects profits of 6.5 billion yen ($77.0 million), down from 9.8 billion ($116.1 million).
Lower than expected Resident Evil 6 sales is the main reason for the lower financial forecast. While Capcom said debut sales were strong, sales quickly dropped off. Capcom has also delayed the release of Monster Hunter 4 (3DS) in Japan. The game was originally planned to come out in March 2013, and won't be released until later in the year.
