Kojima to Open New Studio in L.A. - News

Kojima Productions is set to open up a new studio in Los Angeles, California. This news comes via a job listing. The new studio is to be named Kojima Productions Los Angeles. The studio is looking to hire senior programmers, artists and developers.

"Kojima Productions, the world famous game studio within the Konami group, who recently celebrated its 25th anniversary of Metal Gear Solid franchise, is now looking to expand its team," said the job listing. "Kojima Productions are looking for skillful creators, senior programmers, artists and game developers with a passion for making amazing video games."

Now is a good time to be considering opening up a new studio, there are a lot of jobless great people around at the moment from a few of the recent studio closures and downsizing, I'm sure if they can pick up some of the people let go from the likes of 38studios they'll be off to a great start.

I don't like the direction of the industry as a whole. I like great graphics, but alot of the time it seems to be just about that...

This studio in LA will probably head in the hollywoodian direction, if "making amazing video games" is any indicator. Amazing video games are a dying breed, and this is not good omen to me.
