Giving a release date over 2.5 years out is crazy haha.
Welcome to Blizzard games lol
Their CGI is unmatched
Depending on what the animated series is, I wonder if the main CG production team will be involved in it, if so I'm sure it will look fantastic.
I doubt they will be using their CGI cinema quality for their animated series. I expect it to be something like Castlevania, hand drawn. But I could be wrong.
They usually wait a decade or so between games. Was D4 that much of a failure or something? I only played and liked III on PS4.
I also think it's too soon. Diablo is a game with big expansions to refresh the game, Lord of Hatred just came out!!
Diablo should be this epic experience to mark a generation every +10 years and not a game to launch every 6 years!
I mean the announcement is early but the release date is still almost 3 years away.. that's fair. I'm mostly surprised they made a little expansion to Diablo II and didn't announce anything else... like did you really made a seperated expansion that can't play with LoD to only bring 1 new class ? So strange
Already? D4 just got out of early access
D4 was announced with a big old trailer, this is just a little teaser. Shame. well, hopefully it won't have needed MMO stuff and horrible mtx like that.
Better not be open world trash.... POE2 is coming along pretty well. They need to do better than D4 did.
Meanwhile Nintendo wouldn’t even give us a release date for the OoT remake until two months in advance lol
Seems too early, but they did just make D4 a lot worse so... Honestly such a shame because I could have seen myself playing that for years.
The vast majority of the userbase felt the last expansion was a massive success and put the game in the best place it has ever been.
Well my take is the vast majority of the userbase ignores how absolutely detrimental it was to the leveling experience with a butchered skill-tree where you spend 15 levels on the same ability instead of having interesting choices, but sure I'm aware people like it. Good for them.
Everything from the old kill tree is somewhere in the game generally. Mostly as item abilities and the skill tree is active abilities only. The also added charms with special abilities too. I guess the generic passives that were just x% damage under Y condition are gone. Those were generally quite unexciting though.
Overall there was an increase in overall possibilities. Maybe if you dont play deep into the end game it's a lot more shallow, I couldn't say for certain, but i could see that possibility.
Your first sentence is exactly the problem, the switch took the things that felt like a skill tree out of the skill tree and replaced it with things that felt like item effect and frankly served basicly no purpose other than reducing the number of times you make an actual choice. Before the skill tree felt like it's own thing but now it just feels like a much messier version of runes from Diablo 3 with the illusion of more choice by having points to place.
As a game designer and fan of many RPGs my very honest take is that it's quite simply poorly designed, and I'm not saying that applies to every part of the new expansion but the skill tree change has such a huge impact on that core leveling experience that most people will ignore and just talk about end game where you have no more points to assign. And sure let them focus on that, but the leveling process was fun before and isn't any longer in my book.
Remove the online component please! Make Diablo Diablo again!
look at you, tourist
Diablo always had online elements, it's in its DNA, in fact, Diablo 1 was the game that launched Battle.net
Do you mean always online? Or are you actually asking them to remove all multiplayer? That sounds awful.
it needs online. What doesn't work is there open world approach.
