Xbox Series S Internal SDD Reportedly Has 364 GB of Usable Space - News

The Xbox Series X includes a 1 TB solid-state drive (SSD), the Xbox Series S a 512 GB SSD, and the PlayStation 5 an 825 GB SSD. However, it was reported the Xbox Series X would have 802 GB of usable space on the SSD and the PS5 664 GB.
Reddit user uspead20 in a post said he received his Xbox Series S a week early and reports the console has 364 GB of usable space on the SSD that can be used for games and apps. This should be treated as a rumor for now until official sources are able to confirm it.
The Xbox Series X and S will launch worldwide on November 10. The PlayStation 5 will launch on November 12 in the US, Canada, Mexico, Japan, Australia, and New Zealand, and in the rest of the world on November 19.

Fingers crossed the Series S versions of games take up less space. Either way, all consoles are going to require expansions to the SSD. Otherwise just uninstall and reinstall when necessary.
Some devs may not care about it, but with smart delivery it was already confirmed that the games can be smaller in install size for Series S.
PS5 only has 664 GB of usable space. Console makers should be forced to list the amount of usable space in the harddrive, on the packaging. Otherwise it's false advertising IMO.
So what's the point of getting a series s, when you will need to spend another $200 on memory expansion the following year?
Well anybody buying a next gen console should have or buy some sort of external HDD/SSD for BC content. That way if you wanna play some 100GB-200GB last gen games, you can save them in the external.
As far as next gen games, you can only store a few in a Series S. The next CoD is apparently 100GB. While other games will vary from 20-60GB. So you can still hold several next gen games in the internal storage.
Yeah but series x gives you atleast double, which you can atleast get buy without upgrading, along with the blu ray drive and better gpu and ram. Series s looks like a rort compared to it. They should have kept the ssd the same or atleast 500gb.

That is small, but expected since formatting, decimal counting, OS and features eat a chunk of the announced 500Gb. Still should be enough to have 3 games installed and for me that is enough to deal with installs/uninstalls without issues during a gen.
I figured it would be bad. I'm intrigued by the Series S and I will also watch videos analyzing its ports. But I'm a tad concerned some games may need big visual compromises due to less RAM, while the storage expansion is too expensive. Personally, I am thinking I'd only buy one for travel reasons.
The specs make for a really capable 1080p system but no more than that....
For a digital console that kind of sucks. 500GB should be the minimum considering the cheapest form of expansion is the same cost of the console itself. I'm all for deleting games you're not playing anymore but this space could literally be taken up by less then 3 games
Well storage in general is important for Xbox Series and PS5 given neither play games from a disc. In that sense the disc is just an alternate method to install a game, they don't reduce storage usage.
On Xbox One and I assume PS4, the most popular/active games tend to be well under 100GB. Its also expected Series S games will be smaller. Either way, they need to get a 500GB memory unit on the market for $99 in the near future.
I wish Microsoft would of went with slightly bigger SSD to give at least 500GB of free space. It's nice to see that Xbox Series S will still feature quick resume even at the cost of only 364GB. Never the less, 364GB isn't enough space and Microsoft really need to push Seagate or other manufacturer to release a 500GB SSD expansion for half the cost of current expansion.
