PC Gamer announced the PC Gaming Show Tokyo Direct 2026 will take place on September 20 at 9:00 am PT / 12:00 pm ET / 5:00 pm UK. You will be able to watch it on YouTube and Twitch.
The showcase will feature over 35 games, world premieres, exclusive trailers, developer interviews, and more. Atari, Devolver Digital, and New Blood Interactive are confirmed publishers.
"I‘m SO excited to be hosting the PC Gaming Show Tokyo Direct!" said host Frankie Ward. "We’ve got a seriously stacked show for you—lots of world premieres, brand-new trailers, reports direct from Tokyo Game Show and a whole load of exclusive treats in store. I was building PCs since I was in high school and can tell you in the here and now. nothing is more unattractive to me than the idea of gaming on PC. For productivity they are awesome. But I'm a total couch gamer. I don't want to interact with Windows and its constant issues if I don't have to. I did recently make a linux build and I'm still getting used to it.
I spent 40+ years primarily as a PC gamer (TRS-80, Apple II, C64, DOS, Windows, Mac). There are just some games that work much better with a keyboard and mouse. Over the last 10 years I shifted over to being a console gamer. Consoles going to 4k was the game changer for me. Before that, the graphics on PCs was just way batter, not even close. Consoles were just good for games with cartoony graphics before the current gen. It now takes a lot to lure me back to PC. Now I will gladly wait a couple extra months for a game to get ported to PS5.
I have a Windows PC in my living room. The worst issue is Windows nagging about logging in with a Microsoft account perhaps once a month or even less often. Otherwise the PC just boots into Steam Big Picture Mode, and I don't really have to interact with Windows any more than I want to. The only reason I really have to leave Steam is if I want to use another launcher. The amount of issues related to Windows and gaming on my main PC is very similar. Windows suck real bad, but it's almost exclusively in ways that doesn't affect gaming or living room usage.
