Ikumi Nakamura, who announced Bethesda and Tango Gameworks GhostWire: Tokyo at E3 2019, spoke with IGN Japan in a new interview and has expressed interest in developing a new Okami game.

She plans to make a proposal to Capcom once quarantine is over about creating a sequel in the series as she feels that "there’s still a lot to tell in that universe."

View the interview below:

"Regarding Okami, that’s actually the project she wants to make a reality the most," said her translator. "As long as she goes after it, she has a feeling the chances are pretty high that it might become a reality.

"After quarantine is over and the world becomes normal again, she is planning to make a visit to Capcom and propose the idea, but for her the most important thing is that if it would happen, she wants Kamiya-san to direct it again."

Nakamura was credited in the original game with working on background production.

Playing the first one now (HD for Switch). I like it but I always fell like it really needs a remake. Would love to see a new one too!
