Microsoft CEO Wants Xbox to be a 'Great Publisher and Great Platform Provider' on PC and Xbox - News
by William D'Angelo , posted 17 hours ago / 1,460 ViewsMicrosoft CEO Satya Nadella speaking on the latest Sources Podcast discussed the latest round of Xbox layoffs and restructuring, and where he sees Xbox in the future.
“I feel fantastic about the IP we have right now," said Nadella (via Kotaku). "If I look at the studios, the IP portfolio we have, and our ability to then take that and produce great games going forward, I feel fantastic."
He added, "There’s some amount of streamlining the team is doing, and Asha is doing, which is great to see,” said Nadella. “And then we have to invent the right sustainable business model that allows us to deliver gaming to more and more people. That has always been the goal, which is, we want to be a great publisher and a great platform provider for games across both PCs and Xboxes.

"And so that is sort of our goal. And I think Asha and team have said that Xbox is going to get growth this next fiscal year. And that’s the plan they’re executing on, and in that process do a bang-up job of producing some great games."
Nadella specifically mentioning PC and Xbox could signal a move away from releasing first-party Xbox titles on PlayStation and Nintendo platforms.
Xbox CEO Asha Sharma did make the move to return to having some Xbox console exclusives again starting with Gears of War: E-Day next month. 2027's Clockwork Revolution from developer inXile Entertainment will also be an Xbox console exclusive.

Microsoft: “We want more money”.
"And our CEO is an overpaid dumbass.".
Honestly, it's weird for them to make this statement, because they are supposed to be a great publisher/platform ALREADY. 25 years to figure it out.
“And then we have to invent the right sustainable business model that allows us to deliver gaming to more and more people." Not happening as long as there is an Xbox console.
Should we worry about not only Xbox, but also PlayStation and Switch, or Home Consoles in general? Because PC, Mobile devices are iterating much much faster than dedicated gaming consoles, and they are so much more accessible too, everyone has a smart phone (which is getting so powerful), every family has a PC, and App Store, Steam are there, ready for anybody to purchase and play games. Why spending $500 - $900 to buy a device that locks you in a walled garden?
I guess they finally realized that they were committing suicide. Now let´s see if it is not too late.
Pushing towards AI was a mistake.

No more Playstation ports, the focus is PC and Xbox. They will need to sell lots of hardware, or this will fail. ATM, Xbox userbase is not enough, they need Playstation.

Cutting +3000 jobs and GTA VI. Growth on Next fiscal year is no surprise, but they need to make this growth sustainable!!
Imho... Xbox is going to make a half-hearted effort.
They’ll try releasing a few exclusives for Xbox and PC, fail to generate interest, and then backtrack—releasing everything on PlayStation to recoup their investment.
I imagine the next TES VI will be an Xbox exclusive. It’s supposed to be the "silver bullet" to draw players to Xbox... but I don't think that bullet will work. Many people will just wait for a PlayStation version; they won't buy into the "Xbox exclusivity promise".
I don't think it will be technically possible for ES6 to be Xbox console exclusive because it looks like it's still afew years away from being ready and i don't think the Xbox series consoles will even be manufactured when it releases. Xbox helix is just a PC that has a native Xbox console app built into it
He means replacing even more people with AI.
