Leaked e-mails suggest that Sony Pictures is working on an animated Super Mario Bros. movie.
The leaks, which can be traced back to a recent Sony security breach conducted by 'Guardians of Peace', reveal that film producer Avi Arad and studio chief Amy Pascal discussed successfully obtaining the rights to an animated Mario film.
Arad had been pursuing the film rights for some time, but the e-mails in question suggest it's a done deal. Arad has since denied that a deal has been finalised, however, telling BuzzFeed that the leaked e-mails 'were just the beginning' of negotiations. Either way, it looks like an animted Mario movie could be on the cards in the near future.
