Overview
There is one game in the top 40 to be in its final week: The Sims 4 (PC).
Three games have 200,000 or more pre-orders, the same as last week, and the top seven has 100,000 or more pre-orders, the same as last week. Two games added 20,000 or more pre-orders, up from one last week and three added 10,000 or more, down from four last week.
Games in Final Week Before Launch
SIMS 4 (PC) added 8,447 pre-orders for a grand total of 119,988. Expect first week sales in the USA at retail to be in the 175,000 to 300,000 unit range. Expect the game to sell between 1 million and 2 million lifetime in the US at retail.
Other Hot Games – In Order of Release
Destiny (PS4) added 28,023 pre-orders, up from 21,879 last week, for a total of 902,879. The Xbox One version added 16,481 pre-orders, up from 14,574 pre-orders last week, for a total of 726,522. The Xbox 360 version added 9,822 pre-orders, up from 4,636 last week, for a total of 303,575. The PlayStation 3 version added 2,569 pre-orders, up from 800 last week, for a total of 140,436. The game is two weeks away from launch in the USA, September 9, 2014.
Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare (XOne) added 6,128 pre-orders, down from 8,773 last week, for a total of 124,009. The Xbox 360 version added 3,810 pre-orders, up from 1,300 last week, for a total of 97,250. The PlayStation 4 version added 3,773 pre-orders, up from 1,629 last week for a total of 73,299. The PlayStation 3 version added 864 pre-orders, up from 659 last week, for a total of 40,615. The game is 10 weeks away from launch in the USA, November 4, 2014.
Notable mentions: Assassin’s Creed: Unity (PS4) added 2,622 pre-orders for a total of 74,831. Assassin’s Creed: Unity (XOne) added 2,345 pre-orders for a total of 47,837. Super Smash Bros. 3DS entered the charts this week with 47,566 pre-orders.
Requests: Hyrule Warriors (WiiU) added 4,269 pre-orders for a total of 31,718. Super Smash Bros. U (WiiU) added 864 pre-orders for a total of 28,836. Tales of Hearts R (PSV) added 551 pre-orders for a total of 18,914.
