Here we see data representing the global sales through to consumers and change in sales performance of the three home consoles over comparable periods for 2009, 2010, 2011 and 2012.  Also shown is the market share for each of the consoles over the same periods.

Amazing, amazing...360 never ends improving each year ! I'm sure PS3 will be the best-selling home console all the year up to November when CoD, thanksgiving and Christmas should boost/help 360 to match PS3 once again.

VGC : when will we know the final numbers for 360 and PS3 in 2011 ? Is there some adjustments coming or are your 14.1 vs 14.4 final numbers ?

It's just the end of their cycle.. You still can follow weekly their sales on the forum and the Total on VGChartz.

Still, it would be interesting to see PSP and DS sales still posted here. I know they are downhill, but 3DS software has yet to pass DS software sales and same with PSP.

360 and PS3 being up YOY is rather impressive.

I'm expecting a 40% Wii drop this year with no significant software being released. Most likely 30% the first 9 months and a bigger drop for the holydays as there is no Zelda this year..

If it wasn't for Kinickt Microsoft would be trailing right now, Just goes to show that there is a market outside of the 3rd pasty games, Sony should learn a lesson, their move would've done a lot better had they supported it with enough promotion, it wasn't a genius idea, but it could 've got them legs in holiday season, just like Microsoft did.
I don't think their strategy of using their Brand only is paying, final result is they trail all three systems, and they can't cut on the lead cos they lose so badly in Holiday season.

Wii sales are going to be bad this year...

Why all the fuzz about Wii drops ? That´s the last year of its commercial life, WiiU on the verge of lauching, so the drops are expected.

The Best year of the Wii is 2008 Why did you start from 2009 ?!

Seece Aidman (on 12 January 2012)

Because it covers the last 3 years, not the consoles best years.

There is a good chance it might fall even more. The 3DS and Vita will also be pulling buying intent away from the Wii as well as the Wii U.

But could be selling a lot more by the end of the year with DQX online on japan... Nintendo's Consoles are stronger on holidays...

Well... it seems the sells of PS3 will continue stable along the year, and Wii's and 360's will go a bit down... but is for sure that those will rise for Holiday again.. Will be a Price cut on Wii or 360? I wonder...
