The 3DS, before Super Mario 3D Land was released, was selling around 1m per month worldwide after the price cut. Now that Super Mario 3D Land is about to be released in the West, with Mario Kart 7 and Christmas on the way Nintendo won't be able to make the things fast enough! Sony must be kicking themselves that they weren't able to release the Vita before Christmas. Releasing an expensive console in Q1 is a bad idea as Nintendo found out this year. I can see the Vita having similar problems next year.

3DS is a monster.

kopstudent89 (on 16 November 2011)

It's amazing to see how 3DS sales are eating up DS sales. It did not happen with the PS3/PS2. Probably most due to how close the 3DS and DS are pricewise

padib (on 17 November 2011)

And probably adequate backwards compatibility (DS cartridges, DSiWare, ability to transfer DL'd content iirc)
;)

What was I saying about 3DS needing desperately good 3DS software? The sales jump is remarkable.

dsage01 (on 16 November 2011)

Uncharted 3 sales are dropping pretty badly. I hope it can maintain the legs

reviniente (on 16 November 2011)

Battlefield 3 outsold it on it's second week also.

It's just me or Mario sales are disappointing? I was expecting a lot more (400k FW - 200k SW)

padib (on 17 November 2011)

It needs to push HW first, and 3DS is just a bit heavy (not too terribly thought)

I agree with snowdog, but I think Vita had a great launching. But after that, vita will having hard time next few month. But remember, Vita not starting with full backward compatibility with psp. So I think Psp still selling well in Jpn, just like Ps3 and Ps2.

It's not out yet
