gamrDiscuss: Forza Week

by Chris Arnone, posted on 10 October 2011 / 1,502 Views

The highly-anticipated release of Forza Motorsport 4 is coming up this week, and to get everybody excited (as if you weren't already), this week is Forza Week on gamrFeed.

Forza Motorsport 4

Forza Motorsport was introduced on the original Xbox in 2005 to great reviews and quickly established itself as a force in the racing game genre. Since then it has risen to elite status in that genre, going head to head with racing's other top dog, Gran Turismo. This new entry in the series, Forza Motorsport 4 , is looking to dethrone the well-received Gran Turismo 5. Will it do it? Only time, sales, and review scores will tell.

So to kick off Forza Week, what are your favorite memories of the Forza franchise? What are you looking forward to most about Forza Motorsport 4 ? What makes you a Forza fan? Light up those comments!

I was planning on holding off on F4 until the GOTY edition had come out, but after playing the demo and going back to F3 to get to level 50 before getting F4... I'm finding it harder and harder to ignore this title.

yeah loved the demo as well and don't even know why. didn't realize a big graphic improvement to fm3 (but i didn't played it for a long time now) or anything else but i did like the demo much more than the fm3 demo.

Dethrone GT? In terms of quality and realism, yes. In terms of sales, unlikely. As for favorite moments in Forza. Nurburgring in a Porsche GT3 RS in Forza 2. 1 lap was fine, but the second really pushed your capabilities to the limit. Ever since then, i've always thought the quality of Forza would top GT, and Forza 3 did that. Despite coming out a year earlier, Forza 3 managed to match GT5 in quality of car simulation, and even trump it in some aspects (tire deformation). I'm excited about Forza 4 because most reviews say it's the most realistic racing sim on the market this gen, and I expect it to be. It may not have as many cars as GT5, but at least there are no identical cars (repeats), or minivans to populate the list, and the distribution of cars is pretty even. What Forza 4 is, is the best racing sim for car fans. The best cars are all here, every one looking fantastic. The most realisric physics. A free access Top Gear UK and I believe US track. Jeremy freaken Clarkson narrarating Auto Vista Cars, and best of all the single player is so well built, you can play almost any race you can think of right away. Forza 3 was the funnest racing game that I ever owned, and now that it's physics are unquestionably the most realistic, now that the graphics are unquestionably the best, now that it it encorporates fun game modes like cat and mouse online, now that it has Top Gear culture built into the core of the game, and now that it has the most high graphic cars in a racing game, I expect this to be unquestionably the best racing game this generation. I think this may very well be my GOTY.

Making custom designs for the cars was always one of my favorite things to do in Forza. I may be just a novice but it's always rewarding to make an awesome design. Also point to point racing are my favorite types of races.

Reviews for the 360 franchises tend to be biased in their favor so I won't bother paying attention to that. Sales will be less. The 1 personal review I will pay attention to is a Disolitude thread as he has taken the fanboy goggles off before everyone else.

Can't believe it has no Night nor random weather.

how about you talk about the things that forza does have.
