Xbox Live Getting PayPal Function - News
by VGChartz Staff , posted on 20 May 2011 / 2,969 ViewsIf you have Xbox LIVE and haven't heard by now, over the next two weeks you should be expecting a system update. This update will contain some new features, the biggest enabling consoles to read the new disc format Microsoft will be utilising.
As well as this, the update will now allow U.S and international users to use the PayPal service as a billing option. This means that LIVE users will be able to use PayPal for buying Microsoft Points, Xbox Live subscriptions and Games on Demand. Users will have to go to Xbox.com to link their PayPal account to their Xbox LIVE account.
While this additon may not matter much to some LIVE users, it does pose a new, safer payment option for those who don't want to give their card details to Microsoft, or buy Microsoft Points Cards. With the recent PSN scare still fresh in our minds, I'm sure this feature will be welcome addition. Will you be using PayPal when it hits? Let us know in the comments section below.

I may use the Paypal payment option as an alternative to credit cards. I like the convenience of being able to download my game right away instead of getting the prepaid cards.
sony needs paypal on board right away for PSN. MS is probably paying Paypal not to.
I can't wait to see what MS shows off at E3 at least they wan't be showing PayPal or the new disc format. So either MS is gearing up a lot of announcements or they are really stupid im going for the first option. This E3 looks good from a speculation/rumor stand point.
