Rumour: Street Fighter x Tekken Roster Leaked
by Nicholas Taylor, posted on 21 March 2011 / 4,889 ViewsAs we should all be aware by now, Capcom aren't very good at keeping secrets. Particularly those pertaining to their fighting games, and Street Fighter x Tekken seems to be no exception, as we've recently gotten a look at a leak that could quite possibly be the official roster for the upcoming crossover, along with a lot of other information.
If the leak is to believed, then the roster present in the game's code (as of January 2010, at least) is:
Street Fighter
- Ryu
- Ken
- Guile
- Chun-Li
- M. Bison (Dictator)
- Akuma
- Dan Hibiki
- Dhalsim [Unfinished]
- Vega (Claw) [Unfinished]
- Abel [Currently on-test]
- Cammy [Unconfirmed]
- Karin Kanzuki [Unconfirmed]
- Sakura [Possibly scrapped, if not in normal game, could show up in DLC]
There was also official artwork for Zangief, Alex and Hugo who could quite possibly be in development for the game at the moment.
Tekken
- Kazuya Mishima
- Jin Kazama
- Nina Williams
- Paul Phoenix
- Christie Monteiro [Unfinished]
- Heihachi Mishima [Unfinished]
- Jun Kazama [Currently on-test]
- Yoshimitsu [Currently on-test]
- Zafina [Confirmed]
- King [No model yet]
- Forest Law [No model yet]
- Ling Xiaoyu [Unconfirmed]
- Hwoarang
- Bryan Fury
- Ganryu
- Marshall Law
Evidently there's a lot of contradicting going on regarding the Tekken characters, as some of them could be full models and some could be cameos. According to the leak, Bryan was almost certain to be in and the team was working hard on Ganryu's animations at the moment. He also speculated that if Karin and Sakura make it, Xiaoyu is pretty much a shoe-in. Tiger Jackson could possibly be thrown in as well, as he was shown in some promotional artwork, much like Dan Hibiki has been.
There are many small tidbits of information, and for the full list you can check out our source, but you'll be able to see some of them listed here. There are currently about 100 pieces of sketch artwork and 40 finished illustrations. Animations have been enhanced, and the game reportedly moves better than Street Fighter IV does. Ultras are still in the game, but work differently from Street Fighter IV.
Both Kazuya and Jin have the ability to morph into their Devil versions, with Jin using it as a Super and Kazuya as an Ultra. Christie functions a lot like Elena does in Street Fighter III. Kuma was originally planned for the game, but ended up being scrapped. Ken and Chun-Li are both their Street Fighter Alpha versions. Cameos in stages include Panda, Blanka, Zabel, Unknown, Jack prototypes, Servbots and Lili.
It was also mentioned that there will be a location test in April/May of a location test with 6 characters per side, totalling 12 characters, and that Ono is hard at work polishing up Heihachi and Akuma to have them ready for the build. It is likely that the other characters included in the build will include Ryu, Ken and Chun-Li from the Street Fighter side as well as Kazuya, Paul and Jun from the Tekken side.
