Level-5 Working on Ace Attorney?
by Nicholas Taylor, posted on 24 September 2010 / 1,134 ViewsJiro Ishii, an employee at Level-5, let it slip on his Twitter that he's working on the next Gyakuten game. As you may or may not know, the beloved Ace Attorney series is called Gyakuten Saiban in Japan. Well, for the original games at least. The spinoffs starring series mainstay Miles Edgeworth are entitled Gyakuten Kenji, and in this post, Ishii writes that he's working on Gyakuten XX together with Shu Takumi, main developer of the series.
Assuming that he's telling the truth, it's possible that the game he is referring to is the recently unveiled Ace Attorney Investigations 2, but it is also possible, since he didn't use that game's title, that Capcom have another Ace Attorney game lined up.
It's not entirely unfounded, given that Capcom's Keiji Inafune said just a few days ago that Capcom and Level-5 were teaming up.
In other news related to Shu Takumi, the man behind Ace Attorney, Hideki Kamiya recently tweeted that Shu Takumi was his favourite video game developer. In case you've somehow missed who Hideki Kamiya is, he's the creator of Devil May Cry, Viewtiful Joe, and Okami, as well as the more recent hit Bayonetta. Nice to see some love going on in the industry, rather than the usual putdowns.
