Overview – Final Fantasy XIV (PC) hits 200,000 pre-orders and Sid Meier’s Civilization V (PC) hits 50,000 pre-orders in their final week before release. Gran Turismo 5 picks up and Call of Duty Black Ops continues to outpace Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2.
Games in final week before release – After Halo Reach and three other games in their final week last week, it is a lighter week for releases as only 2 games are in their final week.
The top game this week is Final Fantasy XIV for the PC. The game adds 19,000 in its final week as total pre-orders reach 200,000. Expect first week sales to be in the 250,000 to 300,000 range.
The other game in its final week is Sid Meier's Civilization V for the PC. Total pre-orders stand at 51,000 as first week sales should be in the 70,000 to 80,000 range.
Other Hot Games
Gran Turismo 5 (PS3) pre-orders pick up slightly as the release date approaches. The game currently has 181,000 pre-orders with seven weeks left until release.
Call of Duty: Black Ops pre-orders for the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 versions combined continue to outpace the combined pre-orders for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 by 272,000 for a total of 1,221,000 with eight weeks left until release. The gap has grown for a fifth straight week.
Disney Epic Mickey one of the most anticipated Wii games of the year is currently eleven weeks from release. Pre-orders have picked up the last few weeks and should continue to climb up the charts. Pre-orders currently sit at 48,000.
Also in the top 10 is Fallout: New Vegas as pre-orders are up on the week adding another 49,000 pre-orders for the X360, PS3, and PC versions combined, for a total of 560,000. Medal of Honor pre-orders are at 596,000 for the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 version combined, as the game added 36,000 pre-orders on the week. Fable 3 (X360) with six weeks until release adds another 34,000 pre-orders this week for a total of 298,000. World of WarCraft: Cataclysm (PC) adds 37,000 pre-orders as it hits 294,000 pre-orders to date.
Notable mentions outside the top 10: Kinect Adventures! adds 8,000 pre-orders for a total of 123,000 with seven weeks until release. Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood passes 100,000 pre-orders for both the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 versions.

lol at WoW. People have no idea when it's coming but it's 300k and counting. Reach was the last fps I'll ever buy but bitchin won't slow the spread of Shootism. It's a Mithraic cult I think.

Assuming the weekly change stays the same every week for both Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood and Gran Turismo 5, AC:B would end up with around 242,762 pre-orders while Gran Turismo 5 would release with just 241, 253 pre-orders. Isn't that a fun fact?

I seriously dont understand why people have such a big problem with cod. Is it because its cool to go against the grain? None of you have even played this cod yet, so how do you know if its going to be full of bugs and glitches? Sure mw2 has some cheating issues online, but its still the second best mutliplayer fps as far as Im concerned (second to MAG, I love that game) despite its issues. And those are just about it, I can almost guarantee that 95 percent of the people who dont like cod, suck at it. You dont have to camp and noob tube in order to be good, I dont do either of those and usually find myself on the winning team a good majority of the time. People need to quit hatin
@ kopstudent89, Fab_GS and pukem0n; Explain to me why they compared HALO: Reach and COD:MW2 all the weeks before the release of Reach ... COD: MW2 was also released way before HALO: Reach. So comparing HALO: Reach and COD:BO (even if they only used x360 numbers) would be fun to see.

Maybe because halo reach was released last week?
While the pre-orders of HALO: Reach were growing every week we had to read how much it grow week after week and it was compared to COD all the time.
Now that COD:BO is getting bigger and bigger and it might even get bigger then HALO: REACH the comparison stopped ...

wait no COD preorders on PC? sounds a bit odd.... then again, cancelling private servers 2 weeks from release probably made many drop their hopes on this franchise...
has ioi or someone said why it's now the top 30 instead of 50?
I really hope they bring the top 50 back, or else the list will become almost useless for the nintendo fans of the site. sure, the most popular games will make it in the list, but wii party has no chance, kirby may or may not make it in as well, I do think DKCR will make it in.

With these preorders, Epic Mickey can top 3 million.
