RUMOR: Tekken vs. Street Fighter in the Works

Artist rendering of what could be announced at E3 if the Kartel's “reliable source” turns out right.
We’ve had weird battles like Ryu fighting Wolverine via the Marvel vs. Capcom games, Chun-Li vs. Tekkaman Blade in Tatsunoko vs. Capcom, and even RPG team ups from Namco and Capcom, but could we see a Tekken vs. Street Fighter game on the horizon? A rumor began to spread on the internet today of exactly that game originating from a “reliable source.” I know that most “reliable source” internet rumors end up in a dead end, but there have been a few that proved true. As of right now we can only wait and see.
Question is: if the game does happen, which fighting style should it use - Namco’s or Capcom’s?
*cough* vs Dead or Alive *cough* and i meant virtua fighter not virtual fighter haha
f it just do all star! Street Fighter vs Virtual Fighter vs Soul Calibur vs Tekken vs Capcom vs Marvel vs Mortal Kombat vs Kratos...
I'd prefer Tekken VS Soul Calibur or Tekken VS Dead or Alive! Not excited for this.
mortal kombat vs street fighter...awesome!!! arguments begin!! oh, i mean tekken? oddling...
two different styles of play...this will not work and changing the style of either is going to piss alot of fans off.
not really likin it.... they are two completely different styles, its like eating onions and oranges together, awesome in their own respects, but i will slap you if you serve them on one tray!
I want to see Jin Saotome and Ruby Heart... Oh, wait.. Street Fighter... not Capcom... -_- .... uh.. Holy Crap... It just hit me... Tekken and Street Fighter are nothing alike.... Tekken has multiple melee attacks based on direction with most characters move-sets hitting up to 60+ moves. Meanwhile, Street Fighter has 6-9 single attacks for air stand and crouch, with special moves that mostly consist of lasers.. Tekken isn't fully 3D when you get down to gameplay. the fighting is mostly 2D with side-step. Now, obviously, Tekken Vs. Street Fighter will be very different from either Street Fighter, or Tekken.. It's going to be a new game that doesn't play like it's parent series' games. Because they are so different, and thus, so will TvS. I wanna Lili, and Juri, and I'm happy... Also, remember the Vs. Series when characters got super charged moves.. Could be the case for this game. I wont turn my back just yet.. However, Mortal Kombat Vs. Street Fighter would be a great one. I'm doubtful of bounce combos.
OMG!! @ Darc Requiem, this guy knows what he's talking about in term of fighting games. I've always wanted Capcom Vs SNK 3, probably spent 200hrs in Capcom Vs SNK2!!! Capcom listen up, scrap this rumor and make Capcom Vs SNK 3 NOOOOWWW!!
That would be the most UNbalance fighting game ever!!! Please let this not be true and let's wait and hope in the future another rumor pop up with "Tekken Vs Virtua Fighter in the works" then we can comment/hype about a more logical cross over game...
@spdk1 Isnt "Jump" a brawl rip off? I saw a couple of screenshots a few years ago and I wasn't very impressed and since I live in Europe I haven't had the chance to try this game, but if they make a ps3 version I will definitely buy it. I can't believe they included Death Note. I mean neither Light nor L have any special powers.
Why? This would a stupid cross over. As Goddbless said Virtua Fighte vs. Tekken would make better since. Give me a Capcom vs. SNK 3, that cross over made sense and Capcom vs SNK 2 was the best crossover fighter created. It needs a sequel.
Is this some type of joke. That doesn't even make sense. I've always wanted to see Virtua Fighter vs. Tekken but Street Fighter!? I hope this is false...
"i cant see the fighting styles of these 2 games working together." ^this. One style with simply more characters is a boring solution anyway.
COOL....thoght the best would be Virtua Fughter VS Tekken and Killer Instincts VS Mortal Kombat
i cant see the fighting styles of these 2 games working together. The street fighter characters would murder the tekken ones
The ultimate fighting game could be born this way... these 2 are the current biggest oldschool fighters, and they would be amazing put together.
The fighting engines are too different. If I were to use Ryu, I'll just end up using hadoken from a distance against the Tekken fighters.
I'd rather see Mortal Kombat vs Street Fighter as that would bring back the ultimate fanboy arguments. FINISH HIM!!!!
@ Naruball check out a game called "Jump Ultimate Stars" it was only released in Japan, but it has DBZ, Naruto, Bleach, Gintama, Death Note, and anyone else related to shonen jump duking it out.
Unless it is Namco vs Capcom, I hope this goes the way of Sammy vs Capcom and stays trapped in Limbo. Namco has enough characters to make it work and it will be more like the traditional over the top Vs game rather then mellowed to acturately incorporate the styles of your basic Tekken characters.
