Activision Possibly Making New GoldenEye Game - News
by VGChartz Staff , posted on 23 April 2010 / 4,990 Views...here we go again, eh?

You, the readers, and a good portion of the whole gaming Internet know of the endless fame and fan love the original GoldenEye 007 game for the N64 brings into a thread every time it's mentioned, and the reasons for it are too plentiful to be mentioned in one news article, ranging from arguably the first proper console FPS to the best implementation of proximity mines in a videogame... and digging any deeper into he topic is impractical, as I assume that most of you are already hit by a nostalgia stream as you're reading these words... right?

Anyway, in 2004, an attempt was made to recreate the awesome critical and commercial success of GoldenEye 007 in the face of PS2/XB/GCN/DS game GoldenEye: Rogue Agent, and long story short, it failed miserably on both fronts, and had its hinted sequel cut. This is the time to gear up for a second attempt... I guess.
According to an April 21st domain registration by Activision's Mary Tuck, the company is readying to do SOMETHING with the GoldenEye name - and while I can't really say whether it's to cover their ass legally or prepare a domain for a future game in the series, I'm leaning towards the latter knowing that Activision has the rights to make James Bond games. E3 is getting closer with every day, and surely we will know then...
However, just to throw more fuel into the flame of pleasant and dreamy speculation, I'll mention that another domain has been registered on the same day for something called Bloodstone, recently revealed to be... yet another Bond game, a third-person shooter with driving elements. Could Activision be readying a batch of Bond games? Discuss and check back later to find out!

in a perfect world Microsoft would allow rare to release a port of the original Goldeneye onto the DS with online and local multiplayer. It wont happen but considering Microsoft dont have a handheld it would be sweeeeet..
Well, nothing will compare to 007 because as the article states, 007 had a lot of firsts and having that many firsts is pretty tough nowadays.
@Raze
However, they are disappearing due to the lack of freedom they have comparing to Nintendo fanboys.
@Danybrown
Am I? Great!
I love this! It seems Activision is under the impression that Goldeneye was a great game because it was based on the James Bond film Goldeneye, not because it was a brilliant videogame. So if we make another game based on the film Goldeneye, that'll instantly make it a great game, right? Right?
psst- Judge- this site is mostly Sony fans, fyi. :-)
@thejudgesv
Quite frankly youre p!ss!ng me off every news article i read today you're there spamming your fud
Go troll somewhere else please
@Denouement
It is inconvenience to all the society, not only me. If we have a site (which is very popular) where some users (Wii fanboys) have more rights than others, it's reprehensible. If an international gaming sales site is turning into a Nintendo fanboys meeting point, it's very bad (and sad). And there are already many people unsatisfied with the behavior of the moderators (again, it's not just me).
@severance
You seem right. What is the importance of justice after all? What is the problem is a thief steals something from you and the police arrests you instead of him? No one gives a damn.
@thejudgesv
Frankly my dear no one gives a damn.
THE REAL FACE OF VG CHARTZ.
Some time ago, I posted here the truth about VG Chartz and its hypocrisy and I was permabanned for that. Permabanned for to say the truth! The forum rules say "Do not attack the website with out basis. Reasonable debate based on facts is acceptable". So, I shouldn't be banned because everything I said is true and was based on facts (with the respective links). Still, I was permabanned.
Even my post having explicit complaints about comments from other users that clearly violate the forum rules, those users weren't banned.
Then I created a new account (enforcer) to continue to unmask them. They permabanned me again. What was the excuse this time? I cannot alternate from several accounts. How could I alternate between an active account and a permabanned account? LOL. And you know what? They removed the justification of the superenforcer permaban, which said I had attacked the site without basis (this is not true as you already may know), and they posted the same excuse of the enforcer ban.
Finally, and the most interesting thing, they changed the superenforcer permaban to a temporary ban. Why would they do that since they couldn’t admit they’re wrong and they didn’t asked (not even through a private message) for an apology? Why would they retreat in their severe and arrogant position? Maybe because they realize it would be a better idea to try to persuade me to stop with this strategy for which they are impotent. See how coward they are: in the beginning, I was totally right but I didn’t represent a threat, so they hit me as hard as they could; now that I showed I have more strength in this “arm wrestling”, they fear me. And see how arrogant they are: the ban will only end in July! They want to stop me but their arrogance doesn’t allow them not even to have a minimum of intelligence. I would never wait months to have my account back because of an unfair situation. Never.
I would like to talk about another thing. It didn’t happen with me but with condor (another user from this site). This user showed here justified arguments against Wii and a very refined logic. Wii fanboys didn’t like it and stroke him with hypocrite arguments and personal attacks. condor only told to one of them about his particular ignorance about the deep of some videogames (he has not definitely called ignorant to that user). Guess who was banned? condor. And what’s more curious about this situation is that they wrote in the ban explanation they would have to verify his IP address to see if he could come back. Why? What is the relation between the condor IP and the situation? I tell you. The moderators are Nintendo fanboys and they were so angry to see Nintendo being attacked again (even with basis) that they thought condor and I were the same person. What is the legitimacy of their doubt? I think there’s no legitimacy for that. VG Chartz is doomed to be a Nintendo fanboys site.
NONONONONO. They ruined Quantum of Solace, they should NOT ruin this too.
Activision after another cash cow to milk? hope not.
if this "goldeneye" game does well there will be an improved chance that a deal will finally be made with the original but then again M$ and Nintendo would push for an exclusive and we will be back to square one again ^_^
Only EA can make a good James Bond game (that isn't Golden Eye) , Activision will ruin this like they ruined Quantum Of Solace.
Attoyou
Golden Eye isn't even on XBLA, its going threw copyright hell with Nintendo and Microsoft.. i think you mean get the original on a 64-bit cartridge
Lol! would anyone Really Care Now for a NEW GoldenEye ??? Get the Orignal on XBLA and.... Stick to COD Activision.
if anyone could make a mario game, nintendo would not be where they are.... and yet it's a very simple game design.... so i'm sceptical on them making a good golden eye... a definitely more complicated design.
I would rather just have the original Goldeneye on XBLA.
Best bond game ever was Everything or nothing made by ea i believe that was the best hands down
another franchise Activision wants to milk and destroy. ..
Activision can pump out all the GoldenEye games it wants. If it isn't made by Rare I just just don't care. :)
Whee, thanks fellow news-machine! ;)
Well, i do happen to know something about Bloodstone: http://news.vgchartz.com/news.php?id=7896
And while GoldenEye was one of the best movies, i'll call it again: Sean Connery is the best Bond
