Killzone Remake Reportedly in Early Stages of Development

Killzone Remake Reportedly in Early Stages of Development - News

by William D'Angelo , posted 1 day ago / 1,990 Views

A new entry in the first-person shooter series originally developed Guerrilla Games, Killzone, is reportedly in the early stages of development, according to MP1st.

People familiar with the situation claim Guerrilla Games is working with a third-party studio on a Killzone remaster or remake. It hasn't been specified which entry in the series is being remastered or remade, however, speculation is that it is the first entry from 2004.

A team at Guerrilla Games were originally put on the Killzone project with plans for the studio to focus on it after the launch of Horizon Hunter’s Gathering. However, due to poor reception the game is now the studio's priority to fix.

Once Horizon Hunter's Gathering has shipped part of Guerrilla Games will likely switch to Killzone, according to the sources. The rest of the studio will focus on Horizon 3.

The last entry in the Killzone series was 2013's Killzone: Shadow Fall for the PlayStation 4.

Love the KIllzone series, and the original could really do with a proper remake. Hope that's what it is.

That's the worse fps game in the fps category as the story was poorly written with a annoying characters. It only looked good

Dude, if Killzone is the worst FPS you've played then consider yourself lucky. Killzone is average at worst. If you wanna see some REAL FPS SHIT then go look for stuff like Redneck Rampage.

He is an Xbox fanboy. What do you expect from him ? Since Xbox brand is dead, this guy has nothing better to do. That's sad. He should go on PC, he will be better... well I hope.

I agree with it not being the worst, but "average at worst" is also a bit too generous imo. Even on PS2 hardware, they were getting some solid titles like Red Faction, Timesplitters, and so on.

I’m definitely interested! Hopefully they remaster Killzone 2/3, Resistance trilogy and inFamous 1/2 in the future as well if its true.

Well, of all the Sony shooters that could be remade, Killzone (1) is the most justifiable. Most who've played it will tell you it epitomizes the phrase "undercooked." The only worry with that is: will they eject one of its few special ideas (4 different playable characters with unique traits) for the sake simplicity or will they challenge themselves?

Weird but ok

I have no memory of Killzone, that’s how average and forgettable it was.

I've only played the second game along with the game they made for PSP. They're good though not great games. Hopefully a remake will allow Guerrilla to take the franchise to the next level.

It's likely to be the people can fly game, and likely not any kind of remaster.

Sony never listened to what we want. Where are Bloodborne 2, Days Gone 2, Uncharted Golden Abyss Remastered, Infamous 1 & 2 Remastered, Resistance Trilogy Remaster? We don't want Killzone Remakes

id like a few new IPs myself

They have given reasons for the Bloodborne IP multiple times…

Days Gone 2? Gross

Why not? The game is an underrated gem. I like Days Gone

Yeah, Days Gone 2 would have so much room to grow. They could do something crazy with the bikes and whatnot. And the story kind of ended in a cliffhanger, just pick it up and go.
