Nice debut for Sacred 2, it's a great game. Too bad about MadWorld, but did anyone expect differently?
It seems like a lot of western rpg gamers in Japan are 360 owners so that might be it (why Sacred 2 sold well on the 360 there). Though Sacred 2 is more like Diablo rather than a Bethesda game. 360 wrpg JP sales Fable II 0.11m Fallout 3 0.09m (more on 360) Oblivion 0.09m (more on 360) Mass Effect 0.03m Too Human 0.03m Might and Magic Elements: Dark Messiah 0.01m PS3 wrpg JP sales Oblivion 0.08m Fallout 3 0.07m Untold Legends: Dark Kingdom 0.02m I haven't tried Sacred 2 but I have been wanting to get around to trying it eventually since I hear it's like Diablo.
ok so we're getting first day sales again? That's exciting. This week wasn't too exciting though. Zangeki did a little bit better than i thought it would but Nintendo has gotta do a better job of pushing these games.
@gansito lol what did you expect then? Probably something outrageous to say it was a bomb. 52% first day sell through isn't bad any way you spin it. The sales aren't great but this game wasn't supposed to sell great anyway. Some people had worse expectations than this.
Zangeki BOMBA... @ Soriku ... if 17k is better than you thought... then you must have had horrible expecations... its a bad sellthrough 50% of shipments.... Let's see if NOA does not puss out on releasing this game on NA.
Zangeki did better than I thought. Good sales for the type of game it is I think and good sellthrough. MadWorld didn't do well though I didn't expect anything else.
Zangeki did better than I thought, so did Madworld lol Still low though.
I am amazed that SEGA complained about Madworld sales (which are currently around +400k) and the game didn't even have a world wide release until now. My guess is that the title will pick up 70k lifetime in Japan. Not that great, but enough to hopefully get Madworld up to the 500k region.
@Hephaestos: It was probably because Sega and Platinum Games intended this game for American audiences and only did the English voice work for it. Kind of like NMH and NMH2. Heck, I don't even think Sega is publishing the game in Japan. 5k, first day isn't bad, it isn't good but I can see the game doing closer to 12,000 in the first week.
Decent Zangeki numbers. I wasn't expecting much. It should get 25-26K for the week.
lol look at Sacred 2 it may have a 40k first week combined wow i didn 't expect that from a western rpg
Wow... no big release this week. I cant bealive on the other hand that Maddworld had 20k shipped for first week :-O Sacred on the other hand is doing great and the new DB game bombed even if its on the DS :|
Only 11k is low for a Dragon ball game. Maybe the franchise is failing.
I don't like Reginleiv. Poor MadWorld. This is a good game and deserves good results.
ouch dragonball... 11k only Zengeki did better than i expected tbh, and 360 version for Sacred did pretty well compared to the PS3
