With the release of Far Cry 5 next week it has been revealed the game will offer offer microtransactions. However, executive producer Dan Hay told GameSpot that what the game offers is "generous."
"We've set the game up to be generous," Hay said. "We've set the game up so...nothing is locked [away]. You can go out and explore, and the game will reward you for your exploration."
Ubisoft in a statement added that microtransactions will be for cosmetic items only and will not affect gameplay. They will be available for the campaign and multiplayer.
The publisher also revealed that the campaign would be playable offline and would not require an internet connection.
Far Cry 5 will launch for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Windows PC on March 27.
