The Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick has announced during the publisher's financial results conference call attended by Dualshockers that the combined sales for the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One passed 29 million units by the end of December 2014.

"From an industry perspective, we’re very pleased with the performance of the new hardware to date, which has exceeded our expectations," said Zelnick. "Consumer demands for the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One appears to have been strong through the holiday season, with a combined installed base of these platforms exceeding 29 million worldwide by the end of December according to IDG estimates."

"The ongoing success of next gen consoles underscores the vibrancy of the core gaming market, and represents a significant growth opportunity for Take-Two."

Just saying, though what is the breakdown for Microsoft number's through?
All last generation , and even Today Sony is lambasted for combining PSP+PSVita, so why is it that , with Microsoft Gert's the benefit of the doubt and shows the shipped numbers updated fast, but on the otherside of the coin it seem's the Trust in Sony's Numbers are always Doubted, and to always need more than three indie financial firms to all agree if they think Sony's number's are correct. It seems to be that way before the number's are even considered. Microsoft's word = Taken as it is
Sony's = we need to check multiple source's, even than we are still doubtful on the number's.

Sony = trying to fudge the number's
Microsoft= They have no reason to do that, they are more trustworthy

So both VGC numbers seem about right, it's about time the people shouting "Xbox Overtracked!!!!!" were proven wrong.
