Yamauchi: Gran Turismo 7 Expected in 2015 or 2016 - News
by William D'Angelo , posted on 13 October 2014 / 5,263 ViewsGran Turismo creator Kazunori Yamauchi has told GamesTM that he expects the next game in the franchice in the next couple of years. That would put a release sometime in 2015 or 2016.
"Everything will be running naturally," said Yamauchi. "PS3 was much, much more difficult. The high quality of data that we have being rendered on the PS4 I think is going to make an incredible difference."
"For GT7, myself and my staff have a clear vision: to do everything we couldn’t do in GT6," Yamauchi revealed. "We want to make it very Gran Turismo. By that I mean it’s going to be a game that matches the very era that we live in, in 2015 or 2016."

So factoring in the usual delays let's just call it 2018 to be on the safe side
If GT5 and GT6 looks so photorealistic on a 512MB RAM PS3, GT7 running in a Ultra Fast 8GB GDDR5 PS4 will be mindblowing...
2015 or 2016 he says..., so that means GT7 2019 confirmed?
so PD will be doing all the thing's they couldn't do on GT6 or should that be couldn't be bothered to do on GT6, car sounds, track editor/creator, updated graphics. all the thing's there were promised and never delivered, im now very skeptical PD will deliver on their word after failing to update the sounds on GT6 after promising an update before GT6 came out in December last year!
They gave a very convincing explanation as to why they could couldn't namely the incredibly difficult hardware. Without those restrictions, GT7 on PS4 should allow them to reach those goals.
even though every other developer like EA, codemasters and ubisoft managed to have cars that don't sound like vacuum cleaners on the PS3, its a non convincing excuse about the PS3's hardware restrictions and if they knew that why add so many cars and try to run as close to 1080p native when 720p would have been a much better resolution, less cars and a frame rate at 30 fps so at least some sort of AA could have been used would have also enabled them to have some bandwidth for better engine sounds, im still very skeptical that they'll deliver on the goals they laid out as they have not yet delivered a racing game that matches their best "GT3 A-SPEC".
