Some of the Sony stores in the US are selling the 3G model of the PlayStation for $200, according to the Joystiq. This is $100 off the regular price. Despite the price drop for the 3G model the WiFi only model has not been discounted.

The New Jersey and Las Vegas stores have told the Joystiq that the 3G model was being discontinued. However the Seattle store said the sale would only last until Sunday. Also some stores have not even dropped the price.

It was earlier this year that Sony Worldwide Studios head Shuhei Yoshida told Joystiq that despite the price cut in Japan, the PlayStation Vita will not be dropping in price in North America.
