Epic Games, the Gears of War developer, has announced they will be opening a new studio based out of Seattle, Washington. The studio will be focused on the engineering of the Unreal Engine 4 technology.

The studio is still in its early stages, as Epic has yet to give it a corporate name and has yet to announce who will be running the studio. Epic is looking to hire staff, including tech support and senior-level online services talent who will work with the company's engineering group.

Epic has made several moves this year as it expands before the next generation of video game consoles is set to hit over the next couple of years. Epic opened up a new studio in Baltimore, Maryland which is run by ex-Big Huge games employees. Epic also acquired Bulletstorm developer People can Fly just last month.
