I had no idea that Nintendogs/Brain age were that popular, are those really the games that Nintendo won over the casual market with?

they effectively opened up a whole new market with brain age, making the DS a tool to deal with Alzheimer's disease and other motor neuron diseases which effect the elderly. I would never refer to the brain age games as a casual market game simply because of how many lives it mad so much better. As for nintendogs, remember that isn't just a single game, there are about 5 different variations of the game featuring all different breeds of dogs, Vgchartz just records them as one game and many fans of it would have purchased all 5 copies just for the breeds.

Everytime i look at Pokemon sales it keeps wowing me every single time. Even after so many games, the franchise sells like there`s no tomorrow. Amazing!

it's because there is always a new generation of kids growing into the pokemon age and while I myself grew apart from the series it's great to see a new generation loving it :)

Man. DS and Wii are so unbelievably epic when game sales are concerned, I don't there will ever be another generation with this high game sales for individual games. I mean, the top ten sold over 175(!) million units, and most of them on that list are still selling. Selling quite good after all these years even. The Wii is even better, even if Wii Sports wouldn't be counted!

well, Wii sports on the list is just basically a count of how many Wii systems have sold, but agreed Nintendo have done pretty amazingly for themselves this gen especially considering all the doom and gloom talks around the launch of something different.

You have an error at the end of the article, you started talking about the ps3 when it must have been the DS, the part about first party sellers
