Nintendo has announced in a press release they will be cutting the price of the DSi and DSi XL on May 20. The DSi will drop to $100 from $150 and the DSi XL will be cut to $130 from $170. The DS line has more than 2,000 games in its line-up and the systems themselves comes preloaded with several games and applications.

"The new suggested retail prices provide an even greater incentive to pick up the systems, and provide an easy option for parents who want to introduce younger kids to their first portable games," said Nintendo. "With graduations looming, Father's Day approaching and the start of the summer travel season imminent, the new suggested retail prices appeal to all kinds of shoppers."

Much needed price cuts. They should drop the DS Lite down to $50 as well.

I already had 3 DS, 1 Lite, and 2 DS Fat. And I still using this litle machine. Nintendo really want to drop the last bomb with DS and Pokemon B/W 2.

Guess we'll find out soon enough whether it has a chance of beating the PS2 or not.

It should have a small boost, but not much. 79.99 should be where it is at.
